Possible fix hither. Don't know if you all are rooted or running any XPosed modules. I found this post, responded and went on tear of researching this issue. I happened to run across a couple of posts from other forums for other devices. They referred to features similar WiFi calling and phone call recording that were also suffering problems as a result of the Kit Kat update. So I effigy...OK these are modem related problems...do I take these functions on my telephone? Well I did...I take WanamXposed toggled on for phone call recording. I turned that off. Don't know if these are placebos, just I did a boot into safety fashion earlier I did this (no effect) and I toggled disable increasing call ringer off likewise. Below is the proof. Will report dorsum to this thread to give the yay or nay 're: whether or not this sticks.

I've only discovered something that may exist of interest. I usually get speeds of up to 8mb only recently with my note 3 only information technology's been less than 1mb. I then put my telephone into flight fashion, re enabled wifi and did the test once again, finding the speed shot up to effectually v mb.
I disabled flight mode and did the examination withal again and information technology went back down to under 1mb.
    What could be going on?

Ok, so with a bit of earthworks I plant that with bluetooth on (non necessarily continued), wifi speed was drastically reduced. Tested this several times and the results were consistent.
Afterward a factory reset the effect has now been fixed. Would be interesting to detect out what caused this in the get-go place. .

That'south interesting; I just had my phone replaced and it is still doing the same thing. It's similar it's throttling itself to about iii or 4 mbps downwards, upload speeds are practiced. I'm going to try turning the bluetooth off when I become home and endeavour this out.

I was having the aforementioned problem with slow wifi on my Verizon Galaxy S4(3-4mbps) after "upgrading" to the new comcast router/modem. After days of fiddling....changed security to tkip on the router and am back to 20-30mbps. Seems to have stock-still my problem.

I was having the same problem with slow wifi on my Verizon Galaxy S4(three-4mbps) later "upgrading" to the new comcast router/modem. Later days of fiddling....inverse security to tkip on the router and am back to 20-30mbps. Seems to have fixed my problem.

BAM! I tried this and got the exact aforementioned result. My S4 at present downloads at nigh 20-30 Mbps, and my uploads are however at 10-fifteen Mbps. All of our other devices still seem to role every bit before. Thank y'all for finding this and for posting your solution!

Hi I sent my gs4 of to samsung because of the same problem . They sent it back considering it was rooted at one fourth dimension so information technology is no longer under warranty. I also take the aforementioned comcast router and I'm looking forward to changing the router settings to encounter if that works when I get it back . Only here is something else. If I turn my wifi hotspot on I too circulate a ho-hum 3-5 Mbps down. I can be in an area where I'm getting 25 - 30 Mbps downwards 4g lte just when I plow on hot spot what always I connect to it gets 3-five. So even if the router setting increment my speeds what can I practise for hot spot speeds? I utilize my phone equally a hotspot often ? Any Ideas?

i had the same issue, on a note 3. all of my machines were getting 100Mbs except for the note iii. then i noticed when the notation 3 was connected to the 5g N network, all wifi devices suffered. speedtest would show a speed of barely 15Mbps, and the note 3 would be crawling at .5Mbps. i then changed the wifi on the note 3 to employ the ii.iv ghz network, and BAM, everything went back up. note iii speeds also went support to 65Mbps on speedtest.

definitely weird only my telephone is also rooted.

In my case it had something to practise with the 802.11e/WMM QoS settings in my belkin router. When I had this enabled my download speed was less than 1 mbs. When I turned information technology off information technology increased to 15mps. Everytime I renabled it it would tiresome down again and when I turned it off the speed would return.

I take comcast and I read something on the internet (google WMM QoS) and it stated that it is a comcast problem. Turning off the WMM/Qos fixed the problem.

I have the Samsung Milky way Tab 4 and performing the actions that were suggested above had the same result for me also. I put the tablet into airplane manner then upon exiting and re-enabling wifi it seemed to work great! Not sure why this is though.

Hey all. I accept a Samsung Galaxy S4 and was having similar ultra slow download/uploads speeds. Of form the first thing is to do is check other devices in the home, to make certain information technology's your phone that's the upshot. In my instance, it was definitely the telephone.

Here's what worked for me, and I promise it works for you lot too:

    1) Reboot your phone.

ii) Clear apps on the phone (hold home button > so Ten push on the correct to X them all out).

    3) Articulate your inactive and background processes. (agree home button > click the pie chart on the left > click Clear Retention).

Now go to chrome and bank check your cyberspace speed. (just type in 'check net speed' and run the simple test from Google).

Like I said, it worked for me. I hope it works for you too.

    Thank you,

    Calvin
